The Saturday Morning Report

It's always good to wake up on a Saturday.

My favorite thing about a weekend is the fact that I don't set the alarm when I go to bed. I don't care if I get up at the same time or not... It's just that little thing that you didn't have to set the alarm. It's a good feeling. As a matter of fact, I know that there have been times that I smiled "out loud" when I went to bed and looked at the clock before closing my eyes.

Today is shaping up to be a cool day for August. Temps are only low to mid 70's for today, but that's a good thing this time. Sarah and I are having one of our favorite father/daughter things today. It's called Endfest, and it takes place right outside of Auburn here at the White River Amphitheater. There will be 9 bands on two stages. It will be fun. Why Endfest? It's sponsored by a local radio station called 107.7 The End. With both of us being lovers of alternative music (yeah, I planted that seed in her music taste... I admit) the big outdoor concert today is something we both enjoy.

Although it would seem right that Sarah would stay over afterwards, I doubt if she will want to. She has never been very big on staying overnight at anyone's house. No matter how close of a friend it is, I can remember that most of the times started to say over at someone's house, she would call her mom who then drove over and brought her home so she could sleep in her own bed. It's no biggie to me really, as she and her mom live so close by. It'll be her choice. I'm well equipped here, having bought two new beds when I moved in here, but you know how it is--Nothing is "personal" when you stay at someone else's place. No posters, knick-knacks, or other assorted junk to make you feel like it's your place.

Jeez, here it is--August--And it was almost chilly enough to have to put some clothing on when I got up this morning.

Almost.
